HOUSTON – A squall line of severe weather from the northwest is making its way across Texas and will arrive Sunday morning, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez said late Saturday.

The severe weather will arrive in the communities northwest of Houston at about 5 a.m. The line of storms could develop into some severe weather cells with heavy rainfall and some hail.

The line of storms will make their way towards to Houston before 10 a.m., but should die down significantly as they move closer to the coastal communities.

There is a 70 percent chance of rain for Sunday, but the rain should clear the area before 7 p.m.

After Sunday’s front moves on through, expect to see clear, sunny weather for the rest of the work week.
