HOUSTON – There’s a chance for scattered showers this weekend, but you shouldn’t let that affect your outdoor plans, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner.
“We’ve got heavy storms just north of Austin,” Garner said. “They are breaking apart, and maybe if it holds together it will produce a storm for Houston.”
Expect to see morning temperatures in the upper-70s with a 20 percent rain chance on Saturday as the weekend gets under way. By next week our daytime temperatures will be back in the mid-90s, still under mostly sunny skies.
Looking to the Atlantic, a very disorganized Tropical Storm Dorian continues to move northwest at 21 mph. It has maximum sustained winds at 50 mph. The current models show it just east of Cuba by Wednesday. It’s then expected to make an easterly turn, so it’s not yet known if it will affect the U.S. at all.
