HOUSTON — Expect to some heavy rains Friday afternoon for the commute home as the weekend gets underway, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner said.
There is a 50 percent chance of rain Friday with areas in east Harris County and Chambers County receiving localized torrential downpours. These areas could see as much as an inch of rainfall as the storms move westward.
Temps will peak at 93 later this afternoon.
The chance for scattered showers will continue into the weekend with a 50 percent chance of rain on Saturday and a 40 percent chance Sunday.
The partly cloudy skies with scattered showers carry over into next week as well with afternoon temperatures near 100 degrees.
