HOUSTON – Wednesday afternoon will be hot and sunny with only a few clouds in the sky, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner.

"We'll be lucky if we get a drop of rain anytime soon," said Garner.

An upper-level high pressure system is keeping us dry in southeast Texas. We’ll top out around 97 degrees Wednesday afternoon.

Overnight lows this week will continue to be in the upper-70s. The rest of this week we'll still be mostly sunny and dry, but there is a slight chance for showers over the weekend.

Looking to the Atlantic, what’s left of what was Tropical Storm Dorian has pretty much gone away. If it had held together it would have likely gone to the central Gulf, but it would have not come to Houston.
