HOUSTON—A community is searching for a man who a Yates High School student said abducted and sexually assaulted her after she got off a bus.
The attack happened last Wednesday after the 15-year-old girl got off a Metro bus at the stop on Scott Street, and was walking the few blocks to her home, according to investigators.
A man in an old black truck forced her into his vehicle and then dragged her into a nearby abandoned home and sexually assaulted her, police said.
Community activist Deric Muhammad gathered a group of concerned citizens and went door-to-door in the South Union community Sunday letting people know what happened.
“The virtue of a young girl is the most precious thing that she has—it’s the most valuable thing that she has, and for some sick [expletive] to come and snatch that from underneath her, you can only imagine what kind of experience that is,” he said.
Only a vague description of the attacker was provided: a man between the ages of 40 and 50 in a rusty black pickup with a camper on it.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
