HOUSTON – A 27-year-old woman faces an intoxication manslaughter charge after deputies said she hit and killed a man on a motorcycle early Saturday morning in northwest Harris County.

Kira Leann Lebedzinski, of Houston, is charged with intoxication manslaughter, court documents state.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said that at about 3:45 a.m. Lebedzinski and another woman driving in a Cadillac were heading south on state Highway 249 near Antoine Drive and made a left turn into parking lot of a Kroger’s grocery store. The Cadillac pulled in front of a motorcycle heading north on Hwy. 249 and the rider, Artemio Castillo, slammed into the front side of the vehicle, deputies said.

The rider died at scene after he was thrown from his motorcycle, deputies said. The Lebedzinski and her passenger in the Cadillac were not injured, but the she called a companion to come help her out.

Lebedzinski tried to get in her companion’s car, while he attempted to drive her car from the scene. A wrecker driver at the scene blocked both of their vehicles and prevented them from leaving before deputies arrived.

The companion faces a charge of tampering with evidence for his alleged role in the accident.

Bail for Lebedzinski was set at $10,000, court documents state.
