SPRING, Texas – A new firefighter with the Spring Volunteer Fire Department is accused of stealing thousands of dollars in equipment.

Officials said that in two months on the job, 18-year-old Justin McDonald stole three radios, a uniform, a laptop and a medical bag from three different departments.

The Fire Marshall’s office became suspicious of him when he posted a picture of himself on Instagram wearing another department’s uniform.

They called him in and he confessed. McDonald was charged with felony theft.
