HOUSTON—Houston firefighters were trying to determine how a fire broke out at a vacant home in southeast Houston early Thursday.

HFD arrived to find flames coming from the side of the home on Griggs at Tierwester around 2 a.m.
They made a fast attack and knocked the fire out before it could spread to any neighboring homes.
HFD said there was no electricity to the home, and the fire appears to have started outside.
