HOUSTON - The sign above Mike Linsky’s garage reads: “What happens in the garage stays in the garage.” In fact, it doesn’t always stay there. Sometimes it just comes out a little bit differently.
“Well, it looks like we have a Texans car,” Linsky said.
It’s more like a Texans shrine on wheels, completely covered from front to back with assorted Texans stickers and “bling bling,” as well as specially fitted flags.
It all started with a roll of Texans duct tape Linsky fashioned into a racing stripe on the hood of his Hyundai Sonata Hybrid.
“I got a reaction from a Mustang that wanted to race,” said Linsky. “I rolled down the window and said, ‘It’s a hybrid, so that’s not going to work, chief,’ and then I added on from there.”
He also added a couple of passengers: the family dog, Suzy and a skeleton named by a fellow Texans fan.
“Sam Houston has come out of the grave to watch the Texans have a great season,” Linsky said.
“Honestly, I think he’s crazy,” said Linsky’s wife, Laura. “It’s something he’s enjoying doing I guess.”
He must. This isn’t just the car Linsky drives to games. It’s the car he drives everywhere.
