HOUSTON -- There isn’t any better way to prove you’re a real Texan than with a Texas-size steak. So it seemed fitting that on Friday night, KHOU 11 News caught up with Jadeveon Clowney, his mom, and a small entourage at Del Frisco’s in the Houston Galleria.
We asked Clowney how it felt to be in Houston.
It seems he was happy all day long, from the airport where he handed out his new team’s hat, to his official unveiling at an introductory press conference.
“I’m just looking forward to getting started down here and be a Houston Texan and be a part of the team."
And while Jadeveon Clowney is anxious to get going, shirts bearing the name of the Texans number one draft pick are going fast at the Texans Store.
"It just feels like it’s going so quickly,” said Catherine Caviedes, who started pressing out the new shirts early Friday morning.
She said the first one she made was for Jadeveon’s mom.
"They wanted a shirt for her and they said to do a shirt with his name on it,” said Caviedes. “And I said cool, amazing. So I get to do a shirt for her."
Clowney’s mother Josenna said coming to Houston meant the world to her son.
"I’m just happy for him,” said Josenna. “I’m just happy that he’s fulfilling his dream."
And at Del Frisco’s, Clowney also satisfied his appetite.
