Celeb chefs, the Corduas, cook it up with KHOU!

HOUSTON—Celebrity Chefs David and Michael Cordua stopped by to give the KHOU 11 News This Morning team a little cooking lesson.  Watch the video to learn how to make the yummy treats and try the recipe yourself!

Ahi Tuna and Jicama ‘Nachos’

4 oz Ahi tuna, ¼ inch dice

1 oz Fried Onions 14oz bag

½ oz Honey Roasted Peanuts, chopped

½ oz Hoisin Sauce, no MSG

½ oz Salt

2 oz Jicama, thin sliced in 1.5 inch squares

cilantro garnish


for Citrus Ponzu Dipping Sauce:

1 tsp Red Onion, diced

1 tsp Jalapeño, diced

1 tsp Cilantro, chopped

1 oz Citrus Ponzu

2 oz Hon Dashi broth

½ tsp toasted sesame oil


Arrange jicama square on a round plate decorated with banana leaf.

Place prepped tuna with salt on jicama squares. Garnish with hoisin, peanut, crispy onion and cilantro.

Serve with citrus ponzu sauce for spooning over tuna.
