HOUSTON -- A brand new 2014 Chevy Silverado truck catches fire and the owner shot cell phone video of the blaze.
Coach Allen Paul was leaving his job as a wrestling coach and teacher at St. John's School in Upper Kirby Tuesday evening when his engine caught fire.
Luckily, he didn't have any students with him which he often does. He managed to pull over and jump out for help.
By the time he ran into a nearby restaurant for a fire extinguisher, the front end of the truck was fully involved.
A day later, GM sent out a recall for 2014 Chevrolet Silverados and GMC Sierras. The company claims that engine fires can start when trucks are left idling in cold weather.
It's not clear if the truck that caught fire here is part of the recall but Paul and his attorney are investigating.
