HOUSTON— A gunman who shot two officers outside Greyhound’s downtown bus depot was confirmed dead Saturday evening, according to officials.
HPD said the man was found dead inside a parking garage at the intersection of Pierce and Fannin, where the suspect barricaded himself after the shooting inside the Greyhound station.
Police said the suspect was attempting to buy a ticket at the bus station in the 2100 block of Main St. around 5:15 p.m. when someone spotted the butt of his gun sticking out of his belongings.
HPD officers responded to the scene and used a Taser on the man after an altercation. The suspect then fired his gun, striking two officers.
One of the officers was grazed on the hand. The other suffered a gunshot wound to his calf. Both injuries were considered non-life-threatening, according to police.
A witness at the scene said the suspect suffered a gunshot wound, but that was not confirmed by police.
