HOUSTON – Expect to see some big changes Sunday morning as rain returns to the Houston area this weekend, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez.
By 6 a.m. on Sunday, the coastal counties will start seeing some storms develop in the area with temps in the 50s again. By 10 a.m., the communities to the north and west of the Houston metro area could see some heavy thunderstorms with the potential to dump about an inch of rain.
The storms will be strong with some wind gusts, but severe weather is not expected at this time. Highs will peak in the mid-70s in the afternoon.
The storms should clear the area by Monday morning giving way to clear skies and warmer temps.
The good news is that the rain should clean out a lot of the pollen that has been cause people problems.
Expect to see highs back up in the 70s for the rest of the week.
