HOUSTON—Harris County Sheriff deputies were still searching for a home invasion suspect who shot a 22-year-old resident in the 11700 block of Cordoba.

It was around noon when 13-year-old Uriel Rangel and his 22-year-old brother heard a knock at their front door.

“He knocked on the door first and was ringing the bell,” said Rangel.

Uriel said his brother knew the man and didn’t want to let him in.

“And then, five minutes, later he just broke the door down,” Rangel said.

Rangel said the man, who had a gun, wanted their electronics and video games so he went into his brother’s room and called 911.

“He just pulled out a gun on my brother, and when he started hitting my brother I called the cops,” Rangel said.

Seconds later his brother was shot in the head, but the bullet just grazed him.

“He got shot right here,” said Rangel.  “I got scared. I told the guy to stop hitting him and then he just got my brother’s keys and took off in the car.”

The suspect drove around the block and dumped the stolen vehicle on a residential street.

Deputies have been looking for him ever since. They say the homeowners told them they don’t know his name.
