HOUSTON -- The Harris County Sheriff’s Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Friday afternoon in north Harris County.
Officials said it happened at Café Chieu Tim located at 8244 Antoine in Houston
Homicide investigators said two Asian male suspects entered the business around 2:30 p.m. Friday.
The first suspect is described as 5’7 to 5’8, thin build with a mustache. He was last seen wearing a dark colored hoodie-style jacket with tan pants.
The second suspect 5’5 to 5’6, medium build, bald or close cropped hair, and was last seen wearing a baseball hat and sunglasses. He also had a thick padded ski jacket on.
Officials said the suspects also speak with a distinctive Northern Vietnamese accent.
The male suspects were in the business for 30 to 40 minutes and held conversations with the owner and two other patrons in the café, according to police.
As the suspects began to leave the café, the taller male produced a handgun and demanded money from the owner.
The owner, who was also armed with a handgun, shot at the suspects.
The owner was shot by the suspect and died at the scene.
Investigators believe the suspect was also hit by gunfire.
The suspects fled from the business center on foot. A witness saw them run to a chocolate brown colored Toyota Camry, with faded tinted windows. The vehicle was parked on Enchanted Forest Drive directly behind the strip mall.
