HOUSTON—A suspected drunk driver led Harris County Sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed chase across north Houston and into Harris County early Wednesday.

When the suspect finally pulled over, he refused to give up without a fight so deputies said they were forced to subdue him.

“The suspect stopped in a subdivision just east of (Interstate) 45, at which point he was non-compliant on exiting his vehicle,” said Sgt. Hillborn, Harris County Sheriff’s Officer. “At which point he was teased by one of our units and taken into custody by HPD.”

The suspect’s speech appeared to be impaired when he talked to news cameras. The suspect was facing charges of evading arrest and DWI.
