HOUSTON -- A man shot several times stumbled up to a group of people leaving a Houston nightclub early Thursday, police said.

The shooting was reported around 4 a.m. outside the H20 nightclub on Bissonnet west of the Southwest Freeway, according to officers with the Houston Police Department.

HPD said the shooting victim, covered in blood, approached the club-goers asking for help. Witnesses said the man said something about a taxi before he collapsed.

“He was holding his head, and he had blood coming – he was shot like four or five times,” said witness Janelle Lee. “He had a shot in his back, one in his stomach, I don’t know if he was shot in his head – because by then I started backing up.”

Police said the victim will likely survive the shooting, but they haven’t yet had a chance to interview him.

It’s believed whoever was behind the wheel of the taxi sped away before police arrived.
