HOUSTON – An armed suspect barricaded himself inside a southwest Houston home overnight Thursday, police said.
According to Houston police spokesman Kese Smith, the SWAT scene began around 11 p.m. on Sandpiper at Willowbend.
Police said it all started on a nearby road when the suspected shooter called his brother to ask for help with car trouble. When the brother arrived, some kind of altercation occurred, and the suspect shot his brother.
Police said the suspect also shot a passing motorist for some reason before returning to his home on Sandpiper. The suspect refused to come out for police for more than seven hours.
The SWAT scene finally came to an end at 5:45 a.m. after the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
