Houston—Crime Stoppers and investigators with both the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and the Houston Police Department are searching for one or more suspects responsible for a rash of metal thefts at area CVS stores.
Between February 2012 and August 16, at least sixteen metal thefts have occurred at CVS pharmacies throughout the City of Houston and unincorporated Harris County, investigators said. Seven of those thefts occurred in June and July alone.
In the most recent incident, surveillance cameras captured the suspect’s actions.
Video shows a white truck, possibly a Ford F-150, pulled alongside the pharmacy located in the 4900 block of FM 1960 around 3:45 a.m. on August 16.

An unidentified male suspect exited the truck and entered into a fenced off area where the business’ HVAC unit and other utilities were located. The suspect then struck repeatedly at the business’ utility systems until he was able to remove a significant amount of copper metal from the scene.
The suspect fled in an unknown direction after the theft.

An increased reward has been announced in association with these cases. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $10,000 for any information called in to the 713-222-TIPS (8477) or submitted online that leads to the filing of felony charges or the arrest of the suspect in this case.
