HOUSTON – Police said late Tuesday they caught three men burglarizing an elementary school in northwest Houston.
It was reported around 10:45 p.m. at J.G. Osborne Elementary School on Ringold Street at Lawn Street.
According to the Houston Police Department, the suspects triggered a silent alarm, and both HPD and Houston Independent School District police responded.
Two of the suspects walked right into an officer in the school, who held the men at gunpoint until backup arrived.
A third male was hiding in the school, but a police dog managed to find him, and he was taken into custody. Police said the suspect had to be treated for a dog bite.
A preliminary investigation indicated the suspects were looking for computers.
HISD said a maintenance worker was called in to repair the damage before the start of Wednesday’s school day.
