HOUSTON -– A Houston police officer fell and busted his lip while trying to chase down two men who broke into an apartment leasing office on the southwest side of town, police said.
It happened shortly before 2 a.m. Friday in the 11400 block of Beechnut, according to the Houston Police Department.
Officers were called to an apartment complex after someone spotted two men in the leasing office. A glass window in the office's front door was busted out.
An officer saw the men running away with something in their hands, but he got tripped up during the foot pursuit and hit his face on the concrete.
The burglary suspects got away, although it wasn’t immediately known what they got away with.
Paramedics treated the officer at the scene for a wound to his face.
