HOUSTON — A woman was sexually assaulted Tuesday in the Cypress area, and the case could be related to others, deputies said.
It happened around 3 p.m. on Sableton Crest Lane in the Cypress Landing subdivision.
The woman, who is a wife and mother of two, had just got home from work. Deputies said a man was watching her and seconds later, her door was kicked in. The woman was attacked while her children were on their way home from school.
“She’s a very sweet lady, she’s always taking care of my little brother whenever he’s around. We didn’t expect anything like that to happen, especially to her,” said Enrique Zuniga.
Felicia Mitchell, another neighbor, said she saw the victim minutes after the attack.
”I’m very concerned about this, because I’m right here. This is in my neighborhood, it’s down the street from me,” said Mitchell. “She walked to the ambulance. She seemed pretty shaken up.”
Deputies said they think the attacker could be the same man who raped a woman three miles away earlier this month. In that case, the woman’s kids were home, but in another room.
Detectives also said the same man may have gone after another woman in a park five miles away.
Deputies are working on an exact description of the suspect. Call Crime Stoppers with any information at 713-222-TIPS.
