HOUSTON – An officer with the Houston Police Department caught a pair of cell phone store smash-and-grab suspects red-handed early Thursday.
HPD said a Sprint store on the Southwest Freeway and Sandspoint was broken into in the early morning an hours.
A passing officer spotted two men in the store and pulled into the parking lot. One of the men managed to get away on foot, but the other man was captured at the scene.
Police said the man who got away left empty handed – leaving behind his loot of cell phones and tablet computers. The remaining suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
Police believe the men used a large rock to bust the store’s glass front door.
