SUGAR LAND, Texas – Three suspects accused of burglarizing vehicles led officers on a chase at speeds over 100 miles per hour, police said early Monday.

The chase started around 1:30 a.m. when an officer with the Sugar Land Police Department spotted the suspects in a stolen car.

The driver refused to pull over and got on the Southwest Freeway.

The suspects traveled northbound on Highway 59 for about 30 miles before exiting at Mt. Houston Road on the northeast side of Houston. The trio then crashed at a dead end on Spottswood Drive.

The suspects tried to run away on foot, according to police, but the driver and a passenger were quickly apprehended.

A third suspect escaped but was believed to live nearby.
