HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Deputies arrived at a Channelview-area home late Wednesday morning to find the victims of a deadly double shooting.
One man was sent to the hospital while another was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Despite earlier reports of a third victim, only two people were shot.
It happened in the 16000 block of Upshire near Becker, according to deputies. Deputies said the victim who died was found in the home's garage.
A grey Honda was seen fleeing the scene.
Aerial views from Air 11 showed several vehicles in the home's driveway, which was taped off by deputies. Area residents gathered to watch as deputies investigated. One woman arrived at the scene by car and collapsed in the roadway after learning the news that someone had died.
Family members later identified the deceased male as Javier Sandoval, 23.
They said he was babysitting his girlfriend’s 14-year-old daughter. She was not injured.
Deputies said they only have vague descriptions of the suspects, no motive or leads.
