STAFFORD, Texas -- Authorities are reaching out for the public’s assistance after a fellow officer was shot and wounded by three men during a traffic stop in Stafford earlier this week.

On Oct. 26, 2013, at 3:38 am, Officer Ann Carrizales initiated a traffic stop on a Nissan Altima occupied by three men in the 12700 block of Murphy Road in Stafford. As she began talking with the driver of the car, a passenger opened fire on the officer, striking her in the chest and face.

Officer Carrizales immediately returned fire at the men as they fled the scene. Although wounded, she bravely pursued her assailants for several miles into Houston. The pursuit ended in the area of Greenfork Drive and Concourse Drive.

Authorities released dash cam video from the officer’s patrol car.

Sergio Rodriguez, 21, was immediately taken into custody. He is charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer.

The two other men fled the area on foot and remain fugitives. Freddy Henriquez, 28, has been identified as the driver of the vehicle. He is charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer. Daniel Cruz, aka Jose Luis Cruz, is wanted for questioning in the case. Cruz has not been charged at this time.

Officer Carrizales survived her injuries, and is recovering with her family.
