HOUSTON - Houston police say a 28-year-old man was killed in the seven-vehicle crash that shut down Highway 6 at I-10 early Thursday.
The victim was driving a black Honda northbound when, for unknown reasons, he crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a Hyundai traveling southbound.
The incident caused a chain-reaction crash of five other vehicles, according to the Houston Police Department.
The Honda driver died at the scene. The male driver of the Hyundai, 30, was taken to the hospital by Life Flight. Other drivers suffered less serious injuries, with one taken to the hospital by ambulance.
HPD says the investigation into the incident continues.
The highway has since reopened.
