PASADENA, Texas -- A big rig truck crash and a subsequent hazmat spill shut down the Highway 225 frontage road in Pasadena on Thursday.

The incident happened in the eastbound frontage road lanes at Beltway 8, according to Houston TranStar.

The Pasadena Fire Department says an 18-wheeler carrying 4,300 gallons of hydrochloric acid rolled over, spilling about 100 gallons.

No injuries were reported, and no shelter-in-place has been issued for the area.

The chemicals were cleaned from the roadway and the lanes were reopened Thursday evening.
