HOUSTON -- Work crews quickly repaired damage to the Katy Freeway after a problem popped up with an expansion join in the westbound lanes early Monday.
As of 6:20 a.m. three outbound lanes and the left shoulder were blocked at Studemont, according to Houston TranStar.
Views from Air 11 showed crews looking for an expansion join that apparently popped up, leaving a crack in the freeway.
KHOU 11's Darby Douglas warned it could take 45 minutes to get through the mess if you don't take the 610 Loop around downtown.
The freeway has since fully reopened, however.
