A new report by TxDOT sheds light on just how bad our local traffic problem is.
Harris County is home to 44 of the 100 most congested highways in Texas, according to TxDOT’s report released Aug. 31.
Not so surprising, depending on your commute, Houston takes home the No. 1 spot: the five-mile stretch of the 610 Loop through the Galleria stretching from I-10 to the Southwest Freeway.
Harris County has six of the top 10 spots, including No. 3: Highway 59 spanning from the 610 Loop to Highway 288.
And Harris County isn't the only local offender.
The strip of I-45 from Lake Front Circle at The Woodlands Mall to FM 2920 near Wet 'n' Wild Splash Town in Montgomery County ranks 43rd on the list.
What a headache.
