A northeast Houston middle school is on lockdown as police wait for a suspected robber to give up. SWAT is on the scene, say police.

Houston Independent School District officials said they took the action at Fleming Middle School only as a precaution.

The ordeal began at 10 a.m. after police tried to serve a warrant at a home near Wipprecht at Collingsworth.

Reports from the scene indicated that the man confronted police and refused to give up. He and a woman then retreated into a home, police said.

When SWAT officers entered the home, they found no one there.
