One child burned in house fire improving, siblings still critical

HOUSTON—One of the kids who was burned in a New Year’s house fire was improving Friday, while his two siblings remained in critical condition.
Police said the kids were home alone when the house caught fire.
They were in the care of a grandparent, who left the home to go to the store.
It’s not clear how the fire started.
One of the kids is in good condition at Memorial Hermann, while the other two were taken to a burn center in San Antonio.
