Police find 100 kilos of cocaine in car

07:51 AM CDT on Wednesday, August 27, 2008

By REBECCA LOPEZ / WFAA-TV

DALLAS - Officers hit the gold mine of drug busts Tuesday after they pulled over a car with 100 kilos of cocaine, sources said.

Workers at a local car dealership watched the bust go down as Dallas police pulled over a car they suspected of carrying drugs.

"We saw cops coming with lights and sirens," one worker said. "It was slow, about 25 mph."

Narcotic officers made the bust after placing the men under surveillance as they picked up the drugs at a place in East Dallas, the sources said. Southwest patrol officers helped spot the suspects on the service road at Pleasant Run and Interstate 35.

Officers unloaded four large boxes with cocaine, which sources said were worth at least $2 million on the streets. Police also confiscated hundreds of thousands of dollars Monday in connection with the investigation, the sources said.

Dallas police would not talk on the record about the investigation, but said it's on going.
