Investigators said the woman, 30-year-old Lydia Munoz, broke into Ron Williamson's home and stabbed him in the head.

It happened near the intersection of Elmwood Court and Greenway.

“I told my wife, ‘just get out, just get out and run if they’re gonna kill somebody just let them kill me,’” said Williamson.

“She [the suspect] was coming right for my heart and The knife went right into my skull,” he said.

According to police, Munoz got in through the back door, headed to the master bedroom and began stabbing Williamson as he slept.

They said his wife, Cindy, asked her 10-year-old son to bring her a bat when she realized her husband was losing blood and strength.

“I pulled back and I hit her. Yeah, I did hit her,” said Cindy Williamson.

“I’m like Ron, I was an All-Star softball player. Let her up, she’s not going anywhere. He was like, no I’m not letting her up and I’m thankful, because I may have actually hurt her at that point,” said the Sugar Land wife.

The couple held the woman at bay until police arrived.

“That’s someone’s going to come into our cul-de-sac here and do that.  That just blows my mind,” said the victim’s neighbor Elton Festari.

It turns out that the intruder, 30-year-old Munoz, is a former contract employee of Williamson’s.

“She was probably angry because I filed charges,” said Ron Williamson.

He said that he filed felony theft charges against Munoz for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in equipment from his restoration business.

“I’m surprised I’m not dead. My wife is awesome,” he said.

“He’ s my husband. I know he would do it for me,” said his wife.

Munoz is being held on aggravated assault and burglary charges.

“He defended his family, almost to the death. I could not be any prouder of him." said Cindy Williamson.
