HOUSTON -- A retired Houston police employee fired at two people who were reportedly trying to steal a generator from his front porch in north Houston.

He believes he may have hit one man in the head and the other in the shoulder. Both men are in the hospital.

The victim has been retired for two years after being on the force for 26 years. He was a communications specialist for HPD, and is a licensed peace officer.
