Reliant Park officials prepare for Texans game on Sunday
10:23 AM CDT on Tuesday, October 21, 2008
HOUSTON – The week of October 20 was supposed to be big for the Texans, but Hurricane Ike messed up their schedule. Instead, the Texans will play on Sunday. But there is a gun show already scheduled at Reliant Park.
The Houston Gun Collectors Association has been working closely with officials at Reliant Park and the Texans. They want to avoid traffic and parking problems.
Over 70,000 fans will be showing up to see the Texans take on the Bengals on Sunday, but the gun show expects 11,000 people for their event.
The Houston Texans said there should not be a problem accommodating all of the people.
"Sunday is not really the biggest day for the show. There will be people there for the Houston Gun Collectors show, and there will also be a gem and jewelry show. We’ll be able to work through that,” said Jamey Rootes, Texans Vice President.
The people coming to the gun show on Sunday will park in a lot north of the stadium. They'll take a bus to Reliant Center from there.
