Mom in court after leaving kids home alone

HOUSTON -- A mother of three was in court Tuesday night after allegedly leaving her young children home alone.

Heather Vaughan allegedly left her three children home alone.
According to reports, a manager at the Apple Creek Apartments in northwest Harris County heard the children crying and called police.
A 4-year-old girl was on the couch. One-year-old twins were in the bedroom.
The mother, Heather Lynn Vaughn, said she was in Conroe and in no shape to drive home. But when she did come home, Harris County Sheriff’s deputies were waiting.
Prosecutors have charged Vaughn with felony child endangerment.
The children were put in their father's care.
