Baytown shoplifters turn violent
02:14 PM CDT on Tuesday, October 7, 2008
BAYTOWN – Baytown police are looking for three men they say stole from a Macy’s store inside the San Jacinto Mall and then assaulted two officers who tried to apprehend them in the mall parking lot.
Police say surveillance video captured the trio picking out clothing items and colognes from the men’s department on September 5.
They say the men walked out of the store without paying for the merchandise.
Reports then indicate that two store loss prevention officers approached the three suspected shoplifters in the parking lot and tried to detain them.
But one of the suspects allegedly pushed one of the officers, a 28-year-old woman, to the ground. She suffered a minor injury.

According to police, the trio fled in a silver vehicle that’s believed to be a newer model Nissan Acura.
