Capital murder trial under way for former Clear Lake High School student

12:00 PM CDT on Tuesday, September 30, 2008

KHOU.com staff report

HOUSTON - Opening arguments began Tuesday in the capital murder trial of a Clear Lake woman accused of killing four people in a 2003 home invasion.

Prosecutors say Christine Paolilla and her then-boyfriend, Christopher Snider, gunned down four people one afternoon in the quiet Brook Forest Subdivision.  Paolilla was a student at Clear Lake High School at the time, and three of the victims were her classmates.

Paolilla told police she was in the home when the shootings occurred, but said Snider pulled the trigger.

Snider committed suicide a short time after he and Paolilla were charged.

Tiffany Rowell, 18; Rachael Koloroutis, 18; Marcus Precella, 19; and Adelbert Sanchez, 21, were slain at the home.

According to an arrest warrant, Padilla said she and Snider went to the home looking for money and drugs.

Paolilla was a minor at the time of the murders, so she is not eligible for the death penalty.
