HOUSTON—Hope you enjoyed the weather over the weekend, because Monday will be hot and humid again in Houston.

11 News Meteorologist David Paul said to expect temps in the low 90s.

“Today’s weather for Houston will be more like summer. We have the humidity coming back and a 30 percent chance for a shower or thundershower,” Paul said.

That rain chance should stick around for the next few days.

But there may be bigger things to worry about than a little rain.

Paul and the 11 News weather team are keeping a close eye on Hurricane Ike as it moves over Cuba and into the Gulf.

“Right now the forecast cone includes basically the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coasts.  And right now we’re right in the middle of that cone,” Paul said.

Paul said to make sure you have your hurricane plan ready – just in case.

“If it were going to hit Houston-Galveston, it would be midday Saturday, so we have a few days to prepare,” Paul said.

While it’s still too early to tell exactly where Ike will go, Paul said it’s important to stay on top of the storm’s developments.
