Car engine causes garage fire

HOUSTON -- A family in northeast Houston is lucky to alive after their apartment caught fire. 

Firefighters said the blaze started in the garage of their home around 10:00 p.m.  They were able to extinguish the flames before it spread to the apartment.

Fortunately, the family made it out safely.

Firefighters said the fire spread from the engine of a car in the garage.
