BOLIVAR PENINSULA, Texas -- For Henry Fontenot and other people who live in Gilchrist, Tropical Storm Edouard may not have packed a punch, but it sure was a heavy lifter.

“Had a refrigerator come floating across here (and) almost hit me,” exclaimed Fontenot.

As the storm retreated, it left behind a game of hide and go-seek.

“That was my sheetrock,” said Fontenot, pointing to debris around his home. “That's part of my deck. I don't know how I'm going to get that out.

“We had all this timber stacked up to build a deck. Now we'll have to go out there and scrounge it all out because there’s $2,000 of timber out there.”

While Edouard led people on a treasure hunt to find things that floated away, residents said they've seen storms that were much worse.

“That last storm (Hurricane Humberto) where it went 45 (mph) to 100 (mph), that was bad,” said Fontenot.

For now, though, he is content to unearth what Edouard hid from him and his neighbors.
