HOUSTON – A man is dead after his girlfriend attempts to run him down with her car outside their home.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a family violence call in the U.S 59 and West Memorial area only to discover Tracey Cooley, 40, trapped under a white Ford Taurus. 

According to reports, Cooley’s girlfriend, Karen Colson was attempting to drive away and as Cooley tried to stop her, she ran intentionally ran him over.  When the deputies arrived, Colson was trying to drive away from the scene with Cooley still trapped under the car.

Cooley was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in where he died of his injuries.

Police arrested Karen Colson for Aggravated Assault, but her charges were upgraded to Murder upon completion of the investigation.
