08:09 AM CDT on Tuesday, July 8, 2008
HOUSTON -- Firefighters remained on the scene of a massive warehouse blaze Tuesday morning, putting out hot spots.
The 4-alarm fire started Monday night at Carroll’s Discount Office Furniture.
Fire officials described the blaze as “going up like a campfire,” with hundreds of pieces of furniture in the store serving as kindling.
They said crews spent the entire night battling heavy flames and thick smoke.
At the height of the fire, more than 150 firefighters were on the scene.
Luckily, crews were able to keep the fire contained to just the warehouse.
Arson investigators are working to determine the cause of the blaze, but they said they don’t believe it is suspicious.
