Conroe residents' personal info exposed

CONROE, Texas — There was disbelief sown with anger in Conroe after sensitive paperwork was discovered.
“I feel naked. That’s the way I feel because this is not right for them to leave my information out here,” said Hunter’s Glen resident Theresa Mosley-Rash.
Bared for all to see were reams of personal information on hundreds of closing sale documents.
Money orders, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers and bank statements were also in the pile.
The info was found in an open garage of an unfinished home in the subdivision. It was ripe for the picking by anyone.
Devon Harris, who lives in the area, made the discovery.
“Whenever I walked up to the house, I realized there was a desk sitting in the garage with no garage door on it. It was not secure, with documentation of other homeowners in the subdivision on top of it including Social Security numbers, birth certificates, divorce decrees," Harris said.
The discovery was an ID thief’s dream and a homeowner's nightmare.
“Hello robbers! Just give them an open door why don’t you,” said Tilisa Meredith.
She and other residents blame the builder.
“With the mortgage crisis being the way it is, you’d think that Supreme Builders would be a little bit more vigilante whenever it came to storing these documents,” said Meredith.
“All of my information my children’s information is here. Where I work is here. My credit card numbers is here. Everything! My whole life was thrown in this garage,” said Mosley-Rash.
The documents were taken to the police department.
11 News called Supreme Builders to find out who’s responsible for the documents, but they did not return the call.
