HOUSTON -- They’re from Houston, but last week Ellen and Stephen Howell were in a delivery room in Arizona.

“It was three minutes, five babies. There’s just not anything you can say,” said Howell.  

Ellen Howell gave birth to three girls and two boys. Their names are Sidney, Ivy, Mitchell, Luke and Briellen.

The Howell’s joy began when fertility drugs kicked in beyond their expectations, but mom, via telephone, says she wouldn’t have it any other way.

“We believe in life. We believe in giving these children a chance to live,” said Ellen Howell.

While mom recovers in Arizona, dad is in Houston. He had to return to work.

Although things inside his home are calm and quiet, he knows that things and his furniture will change and soon.

“There will be a couple of changing tables, bottles, beds, little rockers,” said Stephen Howell.

Donations and advice have already begun pouring in. One tip is to dress the children in different colors. “…so we don’t get the babies mixed up,” said Stephen Howell. “At first they all look alike. One of the boys, he’ll always have blue the other will have green,” said dad.

Even the type of car the Howell’s wanted had to change.  Ellen wanted a fun trendy car, but that was before they realized they were going to have five babies.

Now they’re going to have to get a 12 passenger van.

“It’s going to be a madhouse. It’s going to be loud, people everywhere and babies screaming,” said Stephen Howell.
