HUMBLE, Texas -- The Amber Alert for a missing 1-year-old boy has been cancelled.

Officials say Kaden Berry was found safe at a Wal-Mart located at 10411 I-45 North in Houston.

Police say that a man matching Michael Richardson’s description gave the child to a Wal-Mart employee along with his belongings.

Richardson reportedly said, “Here is the baby. His momma is in jail. They know what’s going on, and I will turn myself in later”. Richardson then left the store.

Medical personnel checked out the child. He is being transported to a local medical facility for further evaluation.

Richardson was later found and taken into custody on the outstanding warrant.

The child first went missing Sunday evening.

Police said his mom was at the Wal-Mart at 9451 FM 1960, and she was arrested on suspicion of theft. She asked Richardson, who was withher, to take Kaden to his grandparents' house.

Kaden never showed up there.

Police say mom had only known 55-year-old Richardson for a few days and that their relationship appeared drug related.

Police considered the child endangered because no one had heard from Richardson.

They say that Richardson has a lengthy criminal history which included jail time for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

Richardson may face charges in the child's disappearence.
