Hundreds honor art car museum curator

HOUSTON -- The family of the curator of Houston’s famed Art Car Museum, Tom Jones, had a private funeral for the 51-year-old last week, but Sunday afternoon a very public memorial service was held at the museum.
Jones was killed by a suspected drunk driver last weekend.
Hundreds of people turned out to honor the man many call the, “ultimate curator for the art car museum.”
And while the Art Car Parade was held last week, the art cars were back out on the street Sunday.
They parked directly across from where Tom Jones was sitting when a suspected drunk driver hit a parked car that hit Jones.
But Sunday was not about tears, it was about laughter and about a man who touched anyone, he met.
In fact, just driving by the art car museum today, you wouldn't know all the people were there for a memorial service. That's the way his friends and family said that's the way Tom would want it.
Dustin Poe, 23, is accused of killing Jones and is facing intoxication manslaughter charges.
Poe is out of a jail on a $30,000 bond. A judge ordered him not to drive.
