Drunk driving suspected in multi-car crash that left family's kitchen in shambles

HOUSTON—A suspected drunk driver set forth a chain reaction of crashes that left a family’s kitchen in shambles Saturday night.
Police said the driver was going along near Imperial Valley and Buckboard around 10 p.m. when he crashed into a car that was parked in a driveway.
That car was pushed through the garage door into a minivan that was parked in the garage, which was shoved through the wall into the kitchen.
The entire kitchen was shifted because of the impact.
But the driver wasn’t done.
He kept going down Imperial Valley, hitting another white car, running over small trees in the median and smashing into a black vehicle.
At one point, a witness tried to chase him down and get him to stop, to no avail.
The driver then went through two yards at Coach Lamp, hit a large van parked in a driveway, took out a pole that was holding up a carport over the van and started back down Imperial Valley, going the other way.
He plowed through a brick subdivision sign, drove through several more trees, barreled through a metal fence around a construction site and flipped over.
He was transported to Ben Taub in unknown condition.
No one else was hurt.
